FIRST-AID COUNSELING, PLLC · YOUR TOOLKIT

Disclaimer & privacy information

Choose what is useful, skip what is not, and pause whenever you need. These resources are optional educational tools for self-awareness, reflection, and everyday wellbeing.

Education, not individualized care

The information, prompts, exercises, and trackers provide general education and self-help. They do not provide a diagnosis, a validated clinical assessment, personalized treatment, or a substitute for care from an appropriately licensed professional. Educational concepts may draw on established approaches, but these specific apps have not been established as validated treatments. No particular outcome is promised.

Accessing a tool, entering a response, or purchasing access does not establish a therapist-client relationship. If you already receive services from First-Aid Counseling, your existing treatment agreements continue to govern your clinical care. Consult your treating professional about whether an exercise fits your needs. Do not delay care or change prescribed treatment based on a tool.

Choice and emotional safety

You do not need to complete every exercise or answer every question. Some topics may bring up difficult emotions or memories. Stop or choose a different activity if you become overwhelmed, and seek appropriate support. Experiments should remain low stakes and must not compromise safety, health, confidentiality, essential responsibilities, or important deadlines.

If your therapist suggests a resource, participation remains your choice. Declining to use or purchase a tool will not affect your access to counseling or the quality of your care. These resources are offered by First-Aid Counseling, PLLC; if a resource is offered for sale, the seller has a financial interest in that sale.

Not monitored or an emergency service

Written responses are not submitted to your therapist through these tools. No clinician monitors your entries or is alerted if you describe a crisis, harm, or worsening symptoms. Do not use this space to request help or communicate with your treatment team. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent assistance, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.

How your written responses are saved

No account is required to open these tools. This is not a secure patient portal or a confidential messaging service. The journal and habit tracker save responses automatically in this browser on this device. The perfectionism tool keeps responses in the open page unless you enable browser saving. Previously saved answers may load again when you return.

Browser-saved responses are not protected by an individual account or encrypted by these apps. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to read them. Different people using the same browser profile are not given separate journals. Public access to a tool does not itself publish a person's browser-saved answers to other visitors.

Use a personal device and browser profile. Avoid names, birth dates, contact details, diagnoses, or information identifying you or others. Browser saving does not sync responses across devices. Clearing browser data may permanently remove saved responses. Downloads and printouts contain your answers; protect them yourself, especially on shared devices or cloud-synced folders.

Website access and third-party services

Written answers remain separate from routine website connection information. Hosting, domain, and any payment providers may process information such as IP addresses, request details, and transaction information under their own policies. Browser-only saving does not mean a website collects no technical information. These tools are not represented as HIPAA-compliant systems.

Following a link to another website brings you under that website's terms and privacy practices. Any future payment process will have separate purchase information, including the price and access conditions. Do not enter clinical details in checkout notes or payment descriptions.

Questions

For general questions about these resources, use the contact options on the First-Aid Counseling website. Current clients should use the practice's established clinical communication channels for care-related questions. Do not send sensitive journal entries through general website contact forms.
